TransEngen Healthcare Payments Solutions
TransEngen, Inc., a healthcare technology solutions company, wanted to develop a payment gateway specific to the healthcare industry. Recognizing that the needs of healthcare providers are very different from retail merchants, TransEngen turned to Maas Global Solutions to custom develop and host a next generation payments solution. Called the Revenue Maximizer, it enables healthcare providers to determine what a patient owes at the point of care and collect that balance or make payment arrangements before the patient leaves the office. The solution required the integration of specific standard healthcare transaction sets (HIPAA/EDI) with standard payment card industry and ACH transactions to create a seamless workflow for busy healthcare provider offices.Revenue Maximizer allows providers to verify patients’ insurance eligibility in real-time, estimate what’s owed, and accept and record payments by cash, check, ACH, RDC, credit/debit cards; in person, over the phone, or online. Payment transactions may be linked to the patient, provider and claim ID creating an enriched data set that is not available through other payment 
processing systems and enabling efficient electronic posting of payments to providers’ practice management systems.
In addition to the Revenue Maximizer, TransEngen also provides customized solutions to pharma manufacturers. TransEngen, in partnership with MGS has developed portals enabling healthcare providers to access patient insurance coverage and benefits information for specific products in real-time. The portal employs custom business rules and payer-specific benefits data to calculate an estimate of the patient balance owed for the product being administered relative to a provider’s contracted rates and billed charges.
maxiPago!
The original and basic idea for creating maxiPago! came from years of frustration working in the Brazilian and Latin American payments industry. In order to address some of the basic needs they knew nobody was really delivering on, such as reliability/capacity, availability and security, they decided that the best approach would be to combine all of our local knowledge and experience with a world-class technology/platform. They selected Maas Global Solutions as their US technology partner and the maxiPago! payment platform was born.
The maxiPago! platform connects to local card acquirers in Brazil like Cielo, Redecard, American Express as well as local payment methods such as Boleto Bancário and Online Debits. maxiPago! is one of the most advanced payment gateways available with a host of unique features and functionality for the region like recurring payments, card on file, customer payment portal, PCI DSS Compliance support, hosted payments, tokenization, fraud tools and reconciliation. This gateway is the most powerful and feature rich platform in Latin America and positions maxiPago! to be the defacto leader in the payment gateway space in the region.
The maxiPago! gateway has both a Portuguese and English interface allowing businesses to process and manage transactions securely through the Internet without ever having to install software. Merchants can process via the maxiPago! API or use smartPages!, the fully PCI compliant hosted payment pages option. In addition, maxiPago! as the first gateway/PSP, is offering a consolidated and fully automated solution for credit card reconciliation, which to date has been a huge challenge for any merchant using local card acquirers in Brazil.
Chaminade School Payments Center and Parent Payment Portal
Chaminade College Preparatory, a private school in California, wanted a payment solution that would allow their school staff to process payments and segment them by category, so the boosters club sales could be tracked separately from tuition and technology fees. They also wanted a branded online payment portal for parents to pay their student tuition. Maas Global Solutions built a custom solution for them:
- A payment management center that school administrators and teachers would use to process and manage school-related fees and categorize them appropriately. School employees can log into this online secure portal to process payments, manage student and parent information, view transaction reports and download payment data.
- A parent payment portal where parents, guardians or other relatives can pay their school tuition online. The portal was designed to match the school’s web site. In this portal, the parents and relatives can look up the student and quickly pay their tuition.
RBS Online Application
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) needed to enable a large chain of Quizno’s stores to apply for a merchant account quickly. Maas Global Solutions created a custom online merchant application for RBS that would allow each individual store to apply online for a merchant account with a minimal amount of data entry. The application was built to allow each store to log in, enter all the required information and sign the application electronically. The MGS system then compiled the information RBS required to board the account and sent it to RBS quickly and securely.
