Maas Global announced today the integration of the Paymentsite Gateway with the TSYS in-house payment capture system known as Summit. Using the processing power of the TSYS traditional platform, Summit expands the options and services available to merchants. Summit offers host capture, a service that moves transaction data storage, batch creation and the payment acceptance logic from the point-of-sale (POS) device to the TSYS host. Host capture also eliminates the need for retail merchants to "close their batch" on their terminal at the end of every day. Store managers often forget to close their batch, which in effect costs them additional processing fees—host capture ensures that once they run the transaction, they are done. And the host capture feature is ideal not only for retail sales environments, but also for any ecommerce, mail and telephone order merchants who want automated settlement. It furthermore simplifies business logic for Maas Global, eliminating the need to build a separate Paymentsite service to settle merchant batches.
